What is Virtual SAS (vSAS)?

Virtual SAS, or vSAS, is a non-profit virtual airline community that replicates Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) operations in flight simulators such as Microsoft Flight Simulator, MSFS 2024 and X-Plane. We use real SAS schedules, an accurate fleet and exclusive HUES liveries. vSAS is not affiliated with the real SAS.

Is vSAS free to join?

Yes. Joining Virtual SAS is completely free. Register through our vAMSYS portal and start flying right away. There are no subscriptions, paywalls or hidden fees.

How do I join Virtual SAS?

Sign up on our vAMSYS portal at vamsys.io/register/vsas. You will receive a pilot ID, gain access to schedules, the ACARS client and our Discord community within minutes.

Which flight simulators are supported?

vSAS works with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 (MSFS), Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and X-Plane through the vAMSYS ACARS client. Prepar3D pilots are also welcome via compatible ACARS bridges.

Do I have to fly on VATSIM?

No. Flying online on networks such as VATSIM or IVAO is entirely optional. You can fly offline, online, or mix the two. PIREPs are filed automatically either way.

What aircraft does vSAS operate?

Our fleet covers the Airbus A350, A330, A321, A320neo and A319, the Embraer E190, the ATR 72 and the Bombardier CRJ-900. Every aircraft has an authentic SAS livery produced with HUES.

Active vSAS pilots can download the official livery pack from the /liveries page once they have at least 5 accepted flights or 10 logged hours.

vAMSYS is the virtual airline management system that powers vSAS. It tracks flights via ACARS, files PIREPs automatically, manages pilot rank progression and keeps schedules up to date.
